Meet the Keeyora Crew: Madelaine
Q: WELCOME TO KEEYORA, WE’RE EXCITED TO HAVE YOU AS PART OF OUR CREW. CAN YOU TELL EVERYONE ABOUT YOURSELF, AND WHAT YOU DO?
A: Hello, I am super excited to be a part of the team! My name is Madelaine (Maddie for short) and I help with the Marketing and Social Media at Keeyora. I was born and raised in Vancouver and love every part of it, except for maybe the rain! When I’m not at my laptop working, you can find me on a hike or cheerleading with some friends!
Q: NOW CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF, ONLY USING EMOJIS?
A: Tough one but 🍦🙆🐶🤸🏻♀️🐵
Q: WHEN WE HIRED YOU, YOU HAD APPLIED ON INDEED, AND WE USED KEEYORA TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU VIA TEXT. AS A CANDIDATE WHAT WAS IT LIKE?
A: As a candidate, communicating through Keeyora was super convenient and accessible! I didn’t have to open up different apps or web browsers to check for a new message. The notification popped up on my phone as a text, which put my mind at ease as I knew exactly where to look for any responses or updates. I also felt more comfortable communicating through text messages as it felt more natural.
Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT DOING AT KEEYORA?
A: Definitely most excited to create content and help Keeyora grow as a company! Brian and Bradley are also two amazing people and I can’t wait to work with them more!
Q: WHAT BOOKS ARE YOU READING OR PODCASTS ARE YOU LISTENING TO THESE DAYS?
A: One book I’m almost done reading is called “The Dictionary of Body Language: A Field Guide to Human Behaviour” by Joe Navarro.
He is an ex-FBI agent who specializes in non-verbal communication. He cracked many cases by watching surveillance films or recorded interrogations and analyzing their body language.
Q: YOU JUGGLE A LOT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE WORK, HOW DO YOU KEEP ORGANIZED?
A: The two main apps I use to help stay organized are:
1) Google Calendar for all things personal and
2) Trello for all work related items
Without either of these two, I’d fall apart!
Q: WHAT ARE THREE THINGS PEOPLE WOULDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A:
1) I played the flute for 9 years.
2) I love Lord of the Rings - by far the best movie trilogy of all time!
3) I follow a lot of astrophotography-dedicated Instagram accounts. Outer space is somewhere I’d never be, but love to learn about!
Q: ANY NEW SKILLS OR HOBBIES YOU’VE PICKED UP IN COVID ISOLATION?
A: I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator - the pen tool and I have a love-hate relationship! I also had more time to bake things I’ve always wanted to but never had the time to.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR WORK FROM HOME GO-TO SNACK OR MEAL?
A: My go-to snack is a spinach egg and cheese wrap. Sometimes I’ll throw in some left over from the steak the night before too! Super quick and super easy!
Q: WHEN YOU’RE SWAMPED WITH WORK, WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO SONG/PLAYLIST?
A: My go-to playlist is a set from Martin Garrix as he sails around on Dutch Waters! The video could almost be a tourism video for the Netherlands!
Q: WHEN THINGS NORMALIZE, WHERE IS THE NEXT PLACE YOU WANT TO TRAVEL?
A: Oh, such a good question! I love travelling and I’m quite sad that my travel plans this year were cancelled.. BUT I love anywhere tropical or hot! A place that’s been on my bucket list for a long time is Australia. I want to see some quokkas and koalas!
